Digital Display Screens
Typically consists of two flat transparent panels (filters) that are polarised and joined together with many molecules, electrodes and liquid crystal. Any light that passes through the filter will either be blocked or allowed to travel through by the liquid crystal, thus forming a colour picture. The speed at which light travels through this process affects colour saturation, intensity and quality.
Similar to the liquid crystal in that the diode’s act as a semi-conductor when voltage passes through. A collection of red, green or blue LED’s interact and produce modules once light is emitted through. A collection of these modules form an image.
Consists of thousands of small flourescent lamps (pixels) compartmentalised in the space between two panels of glass. These pixels are made up of red, green and blue components and hold a mixture of noble gases and a miniscule amount of mercury. Upon voltage being passed through, the mercury vaporises, gas ionises and form plasma violet rays. This produces light and an image. The perceived colours are affected by the amount of voltage signals sent through the cells.
