AV installation at Nike

A video wall with eco credentials takes centre stage

Nike have been opening up new showrooms across Europe over the last couple of years. The latest to open is the Paris showroom designed by RED Architects. For this project we, at HTS, installed a large 3X3 video wall for visual impact in the centre of the showroom known as 'the Market Place'. We chose to use Samsung LED Screens in the showrooms as they're designed to absorb external light and reflection. They're also really slim so the technology doesn't distract from the product messages. In addition a Samsung LED Screen uses the latest in eco technology which we think is a really important credential when you're running electricity for long periods of time.The audio visual equipment allowed Nike to enhance the industrial styled Nike space with multimedia product messages. The Samsung video wall fits in really well with RED Architects industrial styled basket ball concept floors and information graphic graffiti walls.

We also chose to use JBL professional speakers which creates an exceptional sonic performance throughout the listening area.

The spec for this project challenged our thinking a little bit because instead of neatly hiding the wires away in trunking, we ran them across the steel framework and left them showing to add authenticity to the industrial styled space.

You take control of your environment

It's really important that all the kit is really easy to use. We understand that it's the staff and management who will be using the kit on a day to day basis. It's their job to introduce the right multimedia message for the retail environment. We chose to install simple, reliable control panels so that they could control presentation devices such as ceiling mounted projectors, projection screens, video displays and the speakers/sound.

Ceiling Mounted Projector

Different projectors are designed for different purposes - so first consider what you will use the projector for:

Does it need to be portable? If it does, it will need to be small in size and light weight.
Will it be used in a Classroom? Key considerations here will include economical running and good warrantee covering everything including the lamp.
If you want a projector for the Office you may need sharp images for graphics and presentations, more connectivity and quiet running
In a Large Venue high brightness, reliability and connectivity is really important
If you're looking for a Home Theater experience look for HD widescreen performance with HDMI connectivity
Interactivity is important for education or training applications
If you're looking for a Sales Point you may need sharp images for graphics, and you may also choose a portable solution.

At HTS we specify a range of products based on a number of variables that may decide the choice of zoom, image brightness - and whether your new projector is floor or wall mounted. There are also other factors to consider - what are you going to use your new audio visual package for? Presentations? Video's? Games? The answer may include a selection of other features.

Other factors include:

How big is the room?
How big is the audience?
How is the audience seated?
What's the lighting in the room like?
Are you showing a presentation or a film?
Are you connecting your projector to a computer or using a data stick, CD, DVD or wirelessly?

It's at this point that we would recommend contacting us so we can offer further advice, guidance and a free quotation.

ARVAL ensure their Training Room delivers audience satisfaction

Arval use it's training room for training, product announcements and company meetings.

The challenge: A low ceiling height and a long narrow room meant that it was hard for the audience to see the content on the main screen.

The solution: We installed:

A large wide format electric screen to get the maximum image size without dropping too low to the floor;
Repeater screens down each side of the room which have the ability to display the same image as the main screen;
In addition, as the room can be divided into three sections, these screens have their own computer input so that they become individual meeting rooms when required;
A full ceiling recessed audio system to enhance the presentations;
A simple control panel contained within the lectern. The presenter has a monitor installed facing him/her so that he can preview content during the show to save turning around.

The result: An enhanced training facility meant better training and a satisfied audience.

Mazak upgrade their European Technology Centre with a 55 inch Welcome Screen

Mazak's reception area now contains an impressive 55" LCD screen showcasing their portfolio of machine products and various skills of manufacturing. On entering the reception area visitors can now see a welcoming introduction to Mazak's Technology and Visitor Centre.

With the addition of static displays showing machined components and the latest in tool design the visitor is guided to a 100 seater auditorium where their HD experience features the best in advanced machinery and hosts a vast showcase in machine tool applications for almost every industry sector.

Sports Showroom

We have been very proud to supply and install many av systems for one of the largest sportswear manufactures.

Recently at the main head office we have provided a range of high definition display screens ranging from 42" up to 55" throughout the offices, refectory and gymnasium. The main reception has two large HD screens showing live SKY HD sports and news feeds for visitors.

In the main refectory we have hidden a 4 metre electric screen which drops down through the ceiling and turns this area into a large conference room. Down each side we have installed 50" LCD screens which show content off the main screen or various SKY HD channels. To make this easy to use for any staff member we programmed and installed a AMX wall mounted control panel which from a single button press operates the screen and HD projector. Full surround sound is fitted with microphones to assist any presenter or guest speaker.
